Visit An Endocrinologist To Learn More About Your Endocrine Disorder

If you aren’t feeling well, then it is essential to visit an endocrinologist in Boca Raton, Fla. Endocrinologists are specialists who care for patients with certain types of medical conditions such as metabolic disorders or thyroid disease. You have eight major glands in your body that are responsible for the secretion of a variety of hormones. When your body’s hormones aren’t balanced correctly, you can have an assortment of medical problems such as poor growth or high blood pressure. Endocrine disorders can affect children, teenagers and adults, including females or males.

Undergo Complex Medical Tests To Plan a Course of Treatments

Understanding what is causing an endocrine problem is complex, and you need to see a medical specialist who has the proper diagnostic equipment. With a physical examination, medical images and a variety of blood tests, an endocrinologist can determine if you have one or more endocrine disorders that require treatment. After diagnosing an endocrine problem, the same physician can plan a course of treatments that might include replacing or adjusting your hormones. In addition, you might require a specialized diet or a surgical procedure to overcome the health complications from an endocrine disorder.

Treatment From an Endocrinologist Can Change a Patient’s Life

Endocrine glands are in several locations in your body, including in the abdomen, neck or brain, and in many cases, the different glands work together to help you feel your best. If you visit a clinic that has several endocrinologists, then you have a team of physicians who can work together to resolve your health issues. With a careful analysis of your blood with several testing procedures, an endocrinologist can decrease or increase certain hormones in your body to improve your fertility or to help your child grow normally.

Endocrinologists Have Specialized Training

An endocrinologist is a physician with additional training in understanding the human body’s endocrine system and its different hormones. Improving the health of your endocrine system can help you to have less emotional stress along with additional physical energy. Some endocrinologists specialize in certain types of hormonal disorders, including helping a woman become pregnant by improving her hormone levels or helping a child who has diabetes mellitus. If you are having problems with your weight, mood or energy levels, then schedule an appointment with an endocrinologist to have diagnostic testing.

Safely Dispose Expired and Unwanted Prescription Drugs

Prescription drugs can get into the wrong hands if they are left lying around the house. Children, pets and those that are not prescribed the medication can easily ingest the medication, not knowing what it really is. This can lead to an unintentional overdose or even death. Many people dispose of their unwanted or expired prescription medication by flushing them down the toilet. This is unsafe as the chemicals can get into the local water system. There are several ways to dispose of prescription drugs in a safe manner.

Local Disposal Programs

Many cities offer safe disposal locations for prescription medications. These items are kept in a safely sealed container and are disposed of appropriately. In some areas, disposal events are set-up periodically to reduce the risk of prescription medication being flushed or thrown into regular garbage bags.

Donating Usable Medication to Shelters

Some homeless shelters and low-income service centers ask for usable prescription medications as donations. This is often items like diabetes medication, asthma medication, high blood pressure medication and antibiotics. These must be within the expiration date listed on the prescription as expired medications are not safe to ingest.
When using this method, it is vital that you ensure that the organization you are donating to is legitimate and properly sanctioned to receive medication as a donation.

Use a Mail Service

Mail disposal service is available. Companies like RedBag Service, as an example, provide containers or bags for pharmaceutical waste and expired medications. Many of these services are low-cost. Some services pick up the container from your doorstep, which is convenient. It also ensures that the items are not lost in delivery and are headed directly for the proper disposal facility.

Refrain from Flushing or Throwing Old Prescriptions Away

When a prescription medication expires, it can have several effects on the body. It can cause a serious reaction that can lead to heart failure. It can have no effect at all. Every medication has a different reaction when it is expired. Both flushing the medication and tossing it in with regular trash are dangerous.

Regardless if a medication is inhaled, in pill form or in liquid form, safe disposal is a must. Medication does not have to be a prescribed pharmaceutical, over-the-counter medications should also be disposed of safely. All medications, whether prescribed or over-the-counter have an expiration date on them. With prescribed medications, it is typically one-year from the prescribed date.

Aromasin

Aromasin, also known as Exemestane, is one of the most popular third-generation aromatase inhibitors (AIs) among sportsmen and others who want to reap the endless benefits of anabolic androgenic steroids and performance enhancing drugs, especially harsh or aromatizable steroids.

Medically, Aromasin is recommended during adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with estrogen-receptor positive early breast cancer who have already received two to three years of Tamoxifen and opted for this drug for completing a total of five consecutive years of adjuvant hormonal therapy. The drug may also be prescribed for treating advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women whose disease has progressed following Tamoxifen therapy or for breast cancer treatment options including radiation or chemotherapy.

The third-generation aromatase inhibitor (AI) is chemically described as 6-methylenandrosta-1,4-diene-3,17-dione and its molecular formula is C20H24O2. The tablets of Aromasin include 25 mg of exemestane, an irreversible, steroidal aromatase inactivator. The list of inactive ingredients include mannitol, crospovidone, polysorbate 80, hypromellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, simethicone, polyethylene glycol 6000, sucrose, magnesium carbonate, titanium dioxide, methylparaben, and polyvinyl alcohol. It is metabolized by cytochrome P 450 3A4 (CYP 3A4) and aldoketoreductase and does not inhibit any of the major CYP isoenzymes, including CYP 1A2, 2C9, 2D6, 2E1, and 3A4.

Sportsmen and others, who run anabolic steroid cycles, bulking or cutting, use Aromasin in daily doses of 50mg, preferably after meals, for reducing estrogen development in the body and preventing conversion of testosterone into women hormones like estrogens. The fact that Aromasin can inhibit the production of estrogens by as much as 98 percent to restore the production of natural hormones (like testosterone and winstrol) and enhances the bioavailability of anabolic steroids used in an anabolic steroid cycle is one of the biggest reasons behind the popularity of this aromastase inhibitor.

Exemestane is not recommended to those diagnosed with high blood fats (cholesterol), bone problems (such as osteopenia, osteoporosis), stroke or blood clots, heart disease (like chest pain, heart attack, heart failure), high blood pressure, kidney problems, and liver problems and is best avoided by pregnant and lactating women, children, those having existing allergy to Aromasin or any of its ingredients, and those treated for prostate, breast, or testicular cancer or suffering from high blood pressure, stroke, and liver damage. It is only indicated in postmenopausal women and geriatric patients do not require following any special precaution while using Exemestane. The third-generation aromatase inhibitor is not advised to women who may become pregnant while taking the drug. The abuse of Aromasin may cause side effects such as visual disturbances, back pain, Osteoarthritis, back pain, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, headache, insomnia, increased sweating, hypertension, hot flushes, depression, and edema.

Exemestane should not be used by premenopausal women and patients should not take estrogen-containing agents. This AI may reduce the level of estrogens in the body that may further reduce bone mineral density (BMD) over a period of time to result in health complications such as increased risk of osteoporosis and fracture. The advice of a qualified medical practitioner should be sought without any delay after discontinuing the use of this drug, if health complications like sudden shortness of breath, chest/jaw/left arm pain, confusion, coughing up blood, sudden dizziness/fainting, pain/swelling/warmth in the groin/calf, tingling/weakness/numbness in the arms/legs, slurred speech, swelling of arms/legs, weakness on one side of the body, vision changes, sudden/severe headache are experienced after making the use of Aromasin.

Aromasin capsules, pills, and injections are best stored at a controlled room temperature of 25°C (77°F) with excursions permitted to 15°–30°C (59°–86°F); it must be stored in a dark container and protected against heat, moisture, light, sources of ignition, children and pets.
